β’ The Department of Special Education within the Sanford College of Education (SCOE) at National University invites applications for a full-time professor (open rank) specializing in supporting students with extensive academic, behavioral, and/or intellectual needs. β’ The successful candidate will demonstrate, or have the potential for, excellence in teaching and scholarship in their field. β’ This is a remote position that involves close collaboration with faculty and administration to enhance program quality, foster student engagement, and promote student success. β’ Candidates will be evaluated for their level of proficiency and potential (for excellence) in teaching, scholarship, and service.
β’ Terminal degree (Ed.D., Ph.D.) in Special Education or related discipline required; Special Education degree preferred. β’ Experience teaching in a K-graduation or through age 21 special education setting required. β’ A K-graduation or through age 21 teaching certification from California or a reciprocal state required. β’ Experience in academic program administration, including accreditation (if applicable), developing, and teaching program courses required. β’ 3+ years of full-time higher education teaching experience online and/or onsite required. β’ Specialization (credential or experience) in extensive support needs for students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders and/or intellectual disabilities preferred. β’ Experience in grant writing and grant administration preferred. β’ Background check required. β’ Travel is required at least once annually to attend the Commencement ceremony (if held onsite) and 1-2 program retreats.
