📋 Description

• The Department of Special Education within the Sanford College of Education (SCOE) at National University invites applications for a full-time professor (open rank) specializing in supporting students with extensive academic, behavioral, and/or intellectual needs. • The successful candidate will demonstrate, or have the potential for, excellence in teaching and scholarship in their field. • This is a remote position that involves close collaboration with faculty and administration to enhance program quality, foster student engagement, and promote student success. • Candidates will be evaluated for their level of proficiency and potential (for excellence) in teaching, scholarship, and service.

🎯 Requirements

• Terminal degree (Ed.D., Ph.D.) in Special Education or related discipline required; Special Education degree preferred. • Experience teaching in a K-graduation or through age 21 special education setting required. • A K-graduation or through age 21 teaching certification from California or a reciprocal state required. • Experience in academic program administration, including accreditation (if applicable), developing, and teaching program courses required. • 3+ years of full-time higher education teaching experience online and/or onsite required. • Specialization (credential or experience) in extensive support needs for students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders and/or intellectual disabilities preferred. • Experience in grant writing and grant administration preferred. • Background check required. • Travel is required at least once annually to attend the Commencement ceremony (if held onsite) and 1-2 program retreats.
