Description
• Lead innovation in pricing models, pushing traditional boundaries and setting new industry standards • Collaborate with Product, Actuarial, and Engineering teams for alignment • Set strategic direction of pricing team, prioritizing experimentation roadmap • Proactively explore pricing model opportunities, especially for new markets • Guide vendor explorations and research into data use at granular levels • Mentor junior team members, fostering collaborative team culture • Manage a lead data scientist • Lead large-scale data science projects, applying best practices in project management
Requirements
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred) • 8+ years of experience applying advanced quantitative techniques in the insurance industry • Proven experience in leading development and deployment of pricing models, focusing on automation and innovation • Deep expertise in R or Python, independently querying, manipulating, and modeling data • Experience with advanced modeling techniques — like H2O or XGBoost — is a strong plus • Proficiency in version control systems like Git, collaborating on large-scale projects • Experience with AWS utilities, such as EC2, SageMaker, and Redshift, for data processing and storage • Excellent business intelligence and visualization skills, effectively communicating insights to both technical and non-technical audiences • Ownership mentality, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and mentor others • Strong communication skills, translating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Prior management experience is a plus, but not required
