Description

• Curriculum Development: Lead the design and continuous improvement of the fellowship curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest academic standards and aligns with the mission and goals of YRF. • Academic Planning: Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and schedules that facilitate effective programme delivery and maximize learning outcomes. • Faculty Management: Recruit, train, and supervise faculty members and guest lecturers, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment. • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the academic programme through regular assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement. • Research and Innovation: Promote and support research initiatives and innovative teaching practices that enhance the learning experience and contribute to the field of journalism. • Student Support: Provide academic guidance and support to fellows, addressing their individual learning needs and promoting their professional development. • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and other senior staff to ensure the academic programme integrates seamlessly with the overall strategic vision of YRF. • Reporting: Prepare detailed academic reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Education, or a related field. • A Ph.D. is preferred. • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in academic administration, curriculum development, and faculty management, preferably in the media or higher education sector. • Strong background in communications and journalism, with proven ability to develop and manage high-quality academic programmes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. • Demonstrated ability to lead academic teams, manage complex projects, and drive educational excellence. • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire faculty and students. • Ability to think strategically, analyze academic challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
