They understand how challenging it can be to get coverage for emerging sectors, which is why their proposition to the marketplace is so critical: New Risks, Understood. • The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s financial activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic financial insights. • Duties include preparing financial statements, overseeing close processes, providing analysis, ensuring compliance, managing accounting processes, overseeing tax compliance, coordinating audits, collaborating with teams, mentoring junior members, supporting strategic planning, managing financial risks, and contributing to financial strategies.
• Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as an accountant, with experience in the insurance industry. • Proven expertise in insurance accounting, including underwriting, claims, and regulatory compliance. • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and insurance-specific accounting requirements. • Solid experience in financial reporting, budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams. • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., MS Dynamics, AP, Oracle, Xero, or similar platforms). • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership. • A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to drive financial performance and process improvements. • Experience with IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) is a significant advantage. • Experience working in a start-up or fast-growing environment within the insurance sector. • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly desirable. • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, dynamic environment.
