• Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of the MariaDB server • Enhance usability, performance, scalability, and reliability of the database engine • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and requirements • Provide guidance to fellow software developers • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency • Troubleshoot and debug software defects • Stay updated on programming languages, frameworks, and industry best practices • Collaborate with a global team of database experts to continuously improve MariaDB’s capabilities
• 5+ years of experience of working on a big C++ code base • Understanding and experience with MariaDB Server or other RDBMSs • Proficiency in C++ • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Bash / Python / Perl) • Development experience within a Unix/Linux environment • Good understanding of algorithms & data structures and their runtime complexities • Good knowledge of SQL • Good written and spoken communication skills in English • Experience working successfully in a remote capacity
