📋 Description

• Own and drive the design strategy for Mercury's new accounting product, ensuring seamless integration with our existing platform • Create cohesive experiences across multiple surfaces (accountant-specific tools, Mercury dashboard, customer onboarding) • Lead a growing team of designers focused on accounting products, providing mentorship and establishing processes for success • Partner closely with executive, product, and engineering leadership to define and execute on the accounting product roadmap • Translate complex accounting workflows into intuitive user experiences that save our customers time and effort • Build frameworks for making design decisions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements • Help grow the team by hiring designers who can elevate our accounting product experience

🎯 Requirements

• Led design teams through complex product challenges, particularly in fintech, banking, or other highly regulated spaces • 5+ years of design leadership experience with a track record of developing both people and products • Joy in untangling complex problems, particularly in financial or accounting domains • Ability to set strategic direction while being hands-on when needed • Strong relationships across product and engineering teams • Experience creating intuitive experiences within regulatory constraints • Systems thinking applied to both product design and team development
