β€’ This experienced Engineering position will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. β€’ This will be done utilizing increased knowledge and experience of the conveyor and automation engineering field as related to material handling systems, equipment, processes, and facilities, to lead and support multiple project efforts for Fortna’s Clients. β€’ This position will also devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices. β€’ This position will also be required to support the day-to-day activities of the engineering department and project engineering group and will lead multiple smaller projects or single large projects including retrofits and new equipment facility projects. β€’ This position could lead larger and more complex projects.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college with 7 years of relevant experience, or Associate degree in Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with 15 years of relevant experience. β€’ Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD with at least 3 years practical experience. β€’ Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel. β€’ Experience in meeting and design session leadership and facilitation. β€’ Ability to present in front of a large group including all stakeholders. β€’ Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment and general operational knowledge of distribution centers with a focus on automation design. β€’ Knowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers. β€’ Ability to manage schedules and budgets for projects. β€’ Ability to self-motivate and work remotely. β€’ Willingness to expand knowledge of industry best practices and latest innovations in the industry. β€’ Strong oral and written communication skills. β€’ Strong leadership and collaboration skills. β€’ Ability to work with others including remote resources in multiple time zones using conference calls, webcasts, webinars, video conferencing, or other forms of digital communication. β€’ Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Ability to travel domestically (10-20%) and internationally (possess active passport). β€’ Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
