Description

• Perform long-term testing of instruments to ensure system reliability and performance. • Troubleshoot issues with the instrument, identify root causes, and implement solutions. • Fix minor bugs and software issues as they are identified. Work with customers and partners as needed. • Add small software features or make minor modifications to the user interface (UI) as needed. • Provision, configure and validate newly built instruments to ensure seamless integration into the system. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists and partners to enhance the overall functionality of the machine. • Troubleshoot and integrate sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into the system. • Position can be remote but will require occasional travel to Albuquerque, NM for hands-on time with the instrument or in-person collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience working with Beckhoff PLC systems, primarily using structured text for automation tasks. • Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, and other hardware components, including the ability to troubleshoot and integrate them into complex systems. • Experience in writing and maintaining automated tests, following Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles. • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Proficiency in maintaining and improving C# Windows applications for automation control. • Familiarity with UI/UX principles for making minor modifications to the user interface. • Experience working in cross-functional teams in an agile development environment. • Prior experience in instrument testing and troubleshooting. • Experience with scientific instrumentation a plus. • Science or biology background a plus.
