Description

• Independently handle lawsuits involving premises liability, motor-vehicle accidents and Labor Law actions. • Prepare pleadings, written discovery, reports, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision. • Conduct legal research and independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients. • Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues. • Provide effective and timely communications, legal advice and other services to clients and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology driven environment. • Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures. • Prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases. • Attend continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of tort litigation experience. • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in New York State. • Knowledge of New York Supreme and Civil courts. • Member in good standing of New York State Bar. • Federal admission in SDNY and EDNY is a plus. • Strong legal research and writing skills. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are essential. • Strong communication, computer and technological skills, and the ability to quickly leverage new software are required.
