Are you hopeful about what data and medical research can do to improve medicine? • We are searching for a Senior Backend Engineer that has experience working with large production applications. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a critical member of our engineering team, revamping our existing software experience and helping build our future software from the ground up using modern technologies. • About Us • PatientIQ is a fast-growing health tech company empowering healthcare providers, industry, researchers, and others to collaborate on the mission to improve patient outcomes. PatientIQ is headquartered in Chicago and backed by top-tier west coast venture capital, major hospital investors, and others. • What You'll Work On • PatientIQ Network: build the largest peer network for healthcare providers to collaborate, share de-identified data, and investigate rare diseases and novel techniques to push the boundaries of medicine • Benchmarking: enable administrators at hospital systems to benchmark their physicians outcomes against industry standards • Patient Engagement: automate patient workflows based upon disease status, procedures, and other clinical events with our rules engine and patient portal • 3rd Party Integrations: grow our library of 3rd party integrations, including electronic medical records, and other healthcare partners • Scaling: refactor existing systems and optimize the platform for scaling and increasing data flow • Technologies we use • Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, RSpec, CircleCI, Docker • AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch • How we work • Google suite, Notion, JIRA, Slack, Copilot • Small, full-stack teams (Product, Design, Engineering, QA) • 2-week sprints, 6-month strategic planning cycles • Remote

🎯 Requirements

• Work with product managers and designers to build and realize new product features • Active development with proper test coverage • Perform peer code reviews to ensure the team is producing well tested and maintainable code • Support and optimize a critical production environment • 6 years of experience building web applications • 2+ years of first-hand professional experience with Ruby on Rails • Ability to write clean, well designed, and scalable code • Desire to work in a collaborative environment: interactions with the leadership team, product managers, and customer success teams • Knowledge of databases and backend experience
