Description

• The Director of Accounting & Finance will be responsible for standing up and overseeing the accounting function at Pattern Data. • Establish, oversee, and continuously improve all accounting processes. • Drive a timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reconciliation process, ensuring accurate and compliant US GAAP financial statements. • Manage and ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax regulations, business registrations, and other financial reporting requirements across the US. • Identify and build appropriate internal controls, and continually refine these controls as the business scales. • Oversee audit function, coordinating activities with external auditors and other third-party firms as needed. • Oversee tax planning and compliance, working with external tax advisors as necessary. • Explore, propose, and implement new technology platforms and systems as needed to improve efficiency. • Manage cash flow forecasting, considering various business factors. • Own the annual budgeting and planning process with collaborative resource and investment allocation. • Identify and propose team structure and team additions within the Accounting and Finance functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in audit / advisory services at a public accounting firm. Ideally, public accounting experience with a focus on private companies. Leadership experience preferred • A strong understanding of US GAAP and its application • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks). Also, comfortable learning new software platforms • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently “in the weeds” and collaborate effectively with the broader team • Strong attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and pride in ownership of work • Experience working with software businesses and/or a high-growth environment preferred
