Description

• Assist in the development, maintenance, debugging, and enhancement of existing in-house Excel / SQL / Python-based models under the guidance of senior team members. • Support the team in understanding and implementing Python code-related tasks. • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and assist in the design of solutions that meet business needs. • Follow industry best practices while assisting in the testing and documentation of models. • Collaborate within a small team (~5-10 individuals) to support improvements in methodology, process/data flow, and technology. • Approach problems with a willingness to learn and consider different viewpoints to contribute to innovative solutions. • Participate in team activities to foster collaboration and maintain progress. • Build working relationships with associates across finance, data office, technology, and other business units to support project goals. • Communicate technical findings and solutions in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical audiences. • Assist in evaluating situations and understanding challenges to contribute to team decisions and milestone achievements. • Support project-level tasks and take initiative to contribute to the success of the team’s objectives. • Understand the importance of seeking answers and learning continuously in the role.

Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or other quantitative-related fields preferred. • Working experience with data analysis, preferably within an insurance company. • Good communication skills with the ability to discuss concepts effectively within a group setting. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office-suite software. • Basic understanding of Python, with a willingness to develop expertise in this area. • Proficiency in SQL and experience connecting to different relational database environments. • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI is a plus. • Strong analytical skills, with a willingness to learn and develop further. • Self-motivated individual with a desire to learn and grow. • Capability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables with guidance from senior team members. • Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify potential solutions for challenges. • Execution and collaboration skills, along with good analytical and interpersonal skills. • Experience working on team projects and contributing to achieving team goals while managing individual tasks.
