Description

• We’re looking for an accomplished and well-rounded Data Scientist to help us build innovative personal auto pricing models and process telematics data. • You’ll work closely with a collaborative team of data scientists, using cloud-based notebooks, proprietary modeling libraries and version control systems to deliver impactful results. • Lead the design and development of advanced personal auto insurance pricing models. • Drive the feature engineering process for telematics data. • Mentor and guide junior data scientists. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects. • Present and advocate for data-driven strategies to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders. • Lead efforts to optimize cloud-based data science environments. • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and bring innovative techniques to the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or relevant work experience. • 12 years of relevant work experience. • Strong experience with Python and SQL, particularly in cloud-based environments. • Proven ability to work independently and in teams on complex data projects, from inception to delivery. • Obsessed with the latest developments in machine learning algorithms and data science practices. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Passion for developing high quality models and shipping frequently. • PhD in a quantitative discipline (bonus). • Actuarial designation or progress toward one (bonus). • Prior experience in auto insurance, particularly in cost modeling and working with large datasets (semi-structured or unstructured) (bonus). • Hands-on experience with telematics data and signal processing (bonus). • Contribute to an open-source project (bonus).
