Description

• In a world where many social apps measure their success by time spent online, Raya is a technology company focused on providing utility. • Our iOS only app is a tool for discovery of and access to exciting people, events, opportunities and recommendations globally. • Raya is looking for a Senior Data Scientist 2 to generate actionable insights driving better recommendations for our members. • This role will be reporting into the Analytics team and closely partnering with the Machine Learning and Product teams. • Early projects include estimating the impact of algorithm changes, and designing and analyzing experiments with potential interaction effects. • The ideal candidate has 4+ years of working experience in a Data Science role, with experience in analyzing productionized ML models or algorithms, running well-designed experiments, and building analytical/ML models to uncover key business drivers in Python. • Proficiency in building data transformations in DBT or Airflow is a big plus. • Success in this role will require product curiosity and sharp business acumen.

Requirements

• Degree in quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent) or highly relevant industry experience • 4+ years of experience working in a data science role focusing on predictive analytics and/or personalization for a B2C tech company (dating, gaming, social media) • Expert in manipulating data in Python and proficient in building models such as ARIMA, regressions, xgboost and Random Forest • Expert in SQL • Strong knowledge in statistics • Familiarity with data transformation tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow) • Strong in proactive verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous statistical concepts to non-experts • Good business instincts with an ability to prioritize their team’s work against the highest impact areas • Natural curiosity for exploring data. The company largely operates on West Coast time.
