📋 Description
• We are seeking a highly skilled AS/400 Java API Developer to lead the refactoring and rewriting of APIs that connect a client’s AS/400 system to Content Manager . • The current implementation consists of hacked-together Content Manager APIs running on Windows , which need to be re-implemented in Java directly on the AS/400 . • This role requires an expert who can work closely with our development team during the initial discovery phase and provide technical guidance throughout the implementation.
🎯 Requirements
• 5+ years of experience developing applications running on AS/400 (IBM iSeries, i5/OS). • Strong expertise in Java development • Experience with API development and integration in an enterprise setting. • Understanding of Content Manager and how it integrates with AS/400. • Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and JSON/XML-based data exchange. • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance issues on AS/400. • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a trusted technical advisor for development teams. • Experience migrating APIs or applications from Windows-based environments to AS/400 . • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices on AS/400, such as automation and CI/CD pipelines. • Prior experience with enterprise content management systems , particularly IBM Content Manager . • Knowledge of security best practices for AS/400 and API integrations.
