Description

• We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant with a focus on job costing, data entry, and financial statement analysis. • This role will be pivotal in maintaining precise financial records for our fast-paced, growing group of companies within the construction industry. • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, a solid understanding of job costing, and the motivation to evolve with our dynamic team. • Additionally, they should have experience with financial statement compilation and month-end closing processes. • They should be proficient in managing the financial details associated with each construction project and adept at cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Job Costing/Data Entry: Manage receipts and payables emails to ensure expenses are accurately job costed and recorded to the correct GL accounts. • Auditing: Conduct thorough audits of completed construction projects, ensuring accurate breakdown of costs. • Financial Process Support: Review time-clock hours, financial statements, invoices, transactions, and other accounting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy. • Financial Statement Compilation & Analysis: Assist in compiling financial statements, ensuring the accuracy of all entries. • Month-End Closing: Take ownership of the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales and production teams, working within our CRM + project management system (Builder Trend) to open jobs, audit jobs, and verify the accuracy of data. • Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and recommend areas for improvement within finance and accounting processes to management, and be actively involved in implementing those improvements.

Requirements

• CPA Certification required • 5+ years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, US GAAP, job costing, and associated financial concepts. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online Advanced, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office suite • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively • Adaptable and responsive to changes in priorities, projects, and team structures • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on active listening and respectful interaction with team members • Positive contribution to team dynamics and fostering a supportive work environment • Ability to accept and implement feedback constructively for team improvement • Experience in the construction industry (Preferred) • Familiarity with Builder Trend and Asana (Preferred) • Advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets (Preferred) • Experience or basic understanding of intercompany accounting (Preferred) • Knowledge of construction industry regulations and compliance requirements (Preferred) • Motivated by growth and continuous process improvement (Preferred)
