β’ Ensures accountable decisions are taken at the right level in the organization β’ Reviews and evaluates title searches and insurance risk factors and must be able to justify and communicate underwriting requirements to counsel for buyers, sellers and lenders on real estate transactions β’ Responsible for evaluating risk and exposures to determine acceptability of business β’ Determines premiums, terms and conditions based established rules, rates, and guidelines β’ May analyze data such as financial conditions of the organization, participation percentage, type of industry, characteristics of employee groups, or past claim experience β’ Performs a range of assignments and may lead projects within own discipline β’ Applies working knowledge of business and best practices gained through understanding of key business drivers and recognition of how own area integrates within organization β’ Works within broad guidelines and polices to accomplish objectives and goals β’ Solves moderately complex to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgement and precedents β’ Explains complex and/or sensitive information in a straightforward manner β’ Acts as a resource for colleagues, provides guidance to less experienced team members β’ Individual contributor working with limited oversight β’ Performs all other duties as assigned by management
β’ JD is required, and must be currently licensed in at least one state β’ Typically requires 2-4 years of national or regional underwriting experience for a tile agent or title underwriter
