Description

β€’ Deliver cutting edge and robust cloud-based common data model(s) to support analytics solutions across the clinical and clinical research portfolios. β€’ Become a trusted advisor to customers and consult on consistent and efficient ways to use data to solve problems and improve day to day research capabilities. β€’ Mature institution-wide data and analytics capabilities that drive self-service/self-sufficiency and facilitate greater access to research networks and programs. β€’ Understanding workflows, processes and terminology in the clinical and clinical research areas at St. Jude. β€’ Build partnerships with customers and collaborators across the clinical and clinical research portfolios. β€’ Collaborate with clinical and clinical research stakeholders, end users, leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future goals. β€’ Drive and participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, code, test, support, and document engineering software applications. β€’ Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses. β€’ Review design with team members to ensure institutional data management framework is being understood, followed, and matured within a defined governance structure. β€’ Develop data integration pipelines from data sources to (and from) the Enterprise Data Warehouse - ETL/ELT. β€’ Map disparate data sources (including legacy clinical data systems), data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality. β€’ Track data quality, completeness, redundancy, compliance and improvement. β€’ Work closely with Solutions Architects, Business SMEs and other stakeholders throughout the analytics development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of robust and reusable data models. β€’ Communicate with customer, project team in a timely manner and escalates issues & risks appropriately.

Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field required. β€’ Master's degree preferred. β€’ Minimum experience: Four (4) years of IT experience in the design of databases and ETL processes preferably in comparable industry. β€’ 2 years of exclusive data architecture experience. β€’ Experience with Common Data Platform (CDM) and Common Data Models like i2b2, OMOP, or PCORnet. β€’ Be versed in Cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure preferred, but familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake cloud encouraged) or Big Data solutions and related technologies. β€’ Expertise in data architecture concepts such as data modeling, workflow management, ETL/ELT, real-time streaming). β€’ Working knowledge of medical vocabularies (ICD, SNOMED, etc.). β€’ Understanding data management and governance concepts such as data quality, metadata, dependency management, etc. β€’ Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Willingness and ability to learn, adapt and apply new technologies. β€’ Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure/Synapse/Power BI and Epic EHR.
