Description

As a Senior Documentation Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation related to company products, processes, and training materials. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that information is accurate, accessible, and effectively supports internal and external users. You will further be responsible for the coordination of complex, long-term projects and act as a mentor for more junior team members. Become a Storyblok and headless CMS authority, helping developers, partner agencies, and customers to understand Storyblok and its capabilities, implement a headless architecture on their projects easily, and get the best out of Storyblok’s features. Help developers understand and get value out of Storyblok by creating and maintaining developer tutorials, developer guides, FAQ entries, and API documentation. Write sample applications, prototypes, and code samples to showcase the power and flexibility of Storyblok and the headless approach to content management. Help teammates overcome obstacles, resolving blockers, and completing work tasks. Mentoring teammates in an open, respectful, flexible, and empathetic manner. Pursuing mentorship opportunities specifically to build staff redundancy and staffing capacity. Passionate and highly knowledgeable about advanced topics and the latest trends around web development. Carefully analyze and evaluate documentation materials created by colleagues, ensuring both technical precision and adherence to professional language and formatting standards. Be a mentor and role model for other engineers. Teach and educate other engineers, as well as members from other teams, about Storyblok capabilities and features, as well as other technical topics and trends. Manage complex long-term projects, coordinating a dedicated team and working cross-departmentally when necessary.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in web development. Proven experience in technical writing and documentation. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience. Experience with CMS in general and Headless CMS in particular. Thorough knowledge of consuming RESTful APIs. GraphQL APIs is a plus. Thorough knowledge of at least one of the modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, Next, Nuxt, Astro, or Svelte) along with its fundamental principles. Working knowledge of Git. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. High attention to detail. Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in documentation. Ability to learn and document technical topics efficiently and comprehensively. Ability to assume the users’ perspective to convey technical information clearly. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
