📋 Description
Own and drive all core accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close. Oversee and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly closes. Oversee technical accounting and treasury management. Lead external audits, tax preparation, and compliance filings. Develop and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the company grows. Partner cross-functionally (especially with Finance, Legal, HR, and Product teams) to support strategic initiatives and reporting needs. Lead and grow a small but mighty accounting team, with the ability to scale the function over time.
🎯 Requirements
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a leadership role at a high-growth tech or SaaS company. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, especially in SaaS-related topics like: Revenue recognition Capitalized commissions (ASC 606) Capitalized software development Stock-based compensation CPA is required; Big 4 or national firm experience is a plus. Experience with accounting systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar; experience implementing/upgrading ERP systems is a bonus. Experience with platforms like Shopify and Chargebee is a plus.
