The role is responsible for taking designs from concept to mass production. A successful Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates with customers, internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent related work experience. β’ Experience in sheet metal design. β’ Experience in plastic design. β’ Demonstrated proficiency with CAD based software such as SolidWorks. β’ Desire to work in a customer-focused environment. β’ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. β’ Ability to identify root cause issues and provide recommendations. β’ Familiarity with mechanical and industrial best practices. β’ Experience in computer and IT industry is preferable. β’ Experience with designing products that have EMI/EMC emission requirements. β’ Proven ability to work within design revision control environment. β’ Proven ability to identify potential design issues and risks. β’ Self-motivated to learn new technologies. β’ Clear and direct communications skills including written, verbal and face-to-face. β’ Passion for seeing projects through to completion. β’ Ability to build rapport and maintain solid supplier relationships.
