📋 Description

• The Claims Counsel will administer claims submitted to the Company pursuant to applicable state regulations and pursuant to the Company’s policies. • Manage a claims inventory requiring various tasks during the adjudication of claims. • Investigate each claim and analyze whether it is covered under the policy or not. • Issue letters to insured explaining decisions regarding claims. • Investigate any company policy violations in relation to underlying transactions. • Recommend appropriate legal counsel for litigation and manage outside or in-house counsel. • Attend settlement conferences and mediations. • Provide periodic briefings and reports to Management. • Maintain and update Company loss and expense reserves. • Provide litigation support and testimony as needed. • Recommend creative ways to resolve claims issues.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar license in at least one (1) state. • Two (2) or more years of experience in title and/or real estate law. • Strong preference for title insurance experience and/or claims adjudication experience. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
