Description

β€’ The Legal Helpdesk Contractor will work with the Helpdesk Coordinator to review and respond to incoming Legal Information Helpdesk inquiries. β€’ TLC's Legal Information Helpdesk receives inquiries on a wide variety of legal topics from across the United States. β€’ Response to some inquiries requires limited legal research.

Requirements

β€’ Familiarity with legal issues impacting transgender communities. β€’ Ability to explain legal and other complex issues in clear, persuasive terms for non-lawyer audiences. β€’ Deep understanding of intersecting oppressions including anti-Blackness, white supremacy, transphobia, ableism, misogyny, colonialism, and capitalism. β€’ Experience working with people from a variety of different racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, gender, and generational backgrounds. β€’ A demonstrated commitment to a broad range of social, racial, and economic justice issues and an understanding of the multiple communities TLC represents. β€’ Strong writing, editing, and research skills. β€’ High levels of initiative, creativity, and good judgment. β€’ Enthusiasm for the work of the organization and its potential.
