• At Trella Health, we are passionate and committed to our mission – empowering meaningful change in healthcare. • We are looking for a versatile Data Scientist to join our Data Science & Engineering team. • You will be responsible for turning medical and pharmacy claims data into measures and actionable insights within our Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. • You will utilize your strong quantitative analysis and SQL skills to create and analyze scripts to compute metrics and impact downstream data sets. • You will work closely with our product teams to contribute to the product roadmap, assist with user stories, develop specifications, and provide timeline estimations. • We’re looking for someone who is intellectually curious who is passionate about continuous learning, especially when solving problems within healthcare data.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience. • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in healthcare or life sciences. • Advanced Python skills (e.g., developing data pipelines, writing complex data processing scripts, and automating workflows). • Advanced SQL skills (e.g., writing complex queries, reverse-engineering scripts). • Strong knowledge of medical claims data (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial). • Experience with medical coding systems (ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, MS DRG, NPPES NPI). • Ability to work independently and build data programs. • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. • Familiarity with software development tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. • A passion for using data to improve healthcare and a love for solving complex problems.
