• Expressions of Interest Sought for Trócaire Non-Executive Director (Mobilising the Irish Public). • This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trócaire’s Board of Directors. We are looking for an individual with expertise and experience in Mobilising the Irish Public. Trócaire Board and Board Committee members are unpaid, voluntary positions. • Trócaire is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO), established by the Irish Catholic Bishops conference in 1973. • We work with local partners in the world’s most at-risk communities and with people in Ireland to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and injustice and respond to the crises they create. • The Board has overall responsibility for the strategic, financial and operational direction of Trócaire. • The Board consists of up to 15 people of diverse backgrounds. The Chair is a member of the Irish Bishops’ Conference. • Meetings last approximately four hours. • The Board has five Committees and a subsidiary Board for Trócaire Northern Ireland.
Requirements
• Significant experience of mobilising the Public across the Island of Ireland around social justice issues. • A background in working for an organisation focused on social justice issues on the Island of Ireland or a similar jurisdiction. • A strong understanding of and commitment to global social justice. • Strong communication, strategic and analytical skills.
