Description
• This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trócaire’s Board of Directors. • Trócaire is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO), established by the Irish Catholic Bishops conference in 1973. • We work with local partners in the world’s most at-risk communities and with people in Ireland to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and injustice and respond to the crises they create. • The Board has overall responsibility for the strategic, financial and operational direction of Trócaire. • The Board plays a key role in overseeing strategy, policy and management; financial reporting and controls; risk management and internal controls; people and culture; and governance. • The Board meets approximately six times a year, plus the AGM. • IPAC is the committee of the Board of Trócaire with responsibility for the oversight of the organisation’s development and humanitarian programming and policy influencing. • Expressions of interest are requested from individuals who are willing to contribute their knowledge and skills to Trócaire’s Board. • Directors are appointed on a voluntary basis (non-remunerated).
