β€’ Build and maintain excellent client relationships β€’ Handle high-level client opportunities including scope increases, business challenges, and advisement on improving financials and streamlining processes β€’ Manage small business accounting automation tools like Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, and Gusto β€’ Create processes and schedules for maintaining all financial statement accounts, including full accrual β€’ Oversee and improve routine processes like month-end close β€’ Handle complex and non-routine processes, such as: Reconciling fixed assets and debt schedules to financial statements β€’ Maintaining revenue recognition schedules β€’ Making inventory/COGS entries β€’ Set up and run payroll β€’ Prepare financial reports β€’ Train and coordinate work of bookkeepers and coordinate with outside consultants β€’ Onboard new clients, which includes setting up processes and performing book catch-up and/or clean-up work

Requirements

β€’ An innate desire to serve people, especially business owners β€’ An obsession with meeting deadlines and keeping agreements β€’ An accountant without an accountant personality :) β€’ A problem-solver who works independently with minimal oversight β€’ A minimum of 4 years of experience in small business accounting experience β€’ A wizard with computers, spreadsheets (especially Google Sheets), and accounting software β€’ Coaching and mentoring experience (like explaining accounting to non-accountants) β€’ Ability to self-teach and develop proficiency with a variety of technology and software β€’ Comfortable delegating and overseeing routine work by digging into business processes, troubleshooting a problem, or giving training β€’ Experience with SAAS or real-estate accounting (bonus, but not required) β€’ Experience with business income tax returns (bonus, but not required)
