Especially given that the consequences of getting payroll wrong can sometimes be dire. • If you are the kind of person who has always wanted to make a difference and be heard at work, Wagepoint will give you plenty of opportunity to do just that. • The Role at High Level: We’re looking for a talented Engineering Manager who doesn’t shy away from tackling hard problems and interesting (well, most times) subjects like payroll and HR technology. You’ll lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team while executing technical strategies, ensuring code quality, and fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role. • Strong technical foundation in system architecture, performance optimization, and coding standards. • Experience working in agile development environments with DevOps practices. • A passion for leading people, coaching, and team building. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders. • Bonus points if: You’ve worked in a remote environment and know how to keep distributed teams aligned and motivated. • You have experience in the fintech or payroll space. • You’re familiar with the unique needs of small businesses and how technology can help solve them. • You’ve got experience with modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), CI/CD, and observability tooling.
