β’ The First Line Control role enables the Bank to embed dedicated control professionals into the First Line Units. β’ Work with First Line Units and First Line Control Officers to ensure control requirements are met. β’ Perform control testing development and execution. β’ Test results reporting and remediation oversight. β’ Conduct control performance trend analysis and root cause identification. β’ Provide controls-related training and guidance. β’ Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) related activities. β’ Create and maintain Control Inventory. β’ Develop testing scripts to determine control effectiveness. β’ Execute design and operational effectiveness testing of key controls. β’ Prepare and evaluate testing results and document root causes. β’ Coordinate remediation activities for identified control deficiencies. β’ Provide control-related subject matter expertise. β’ Support participation in RCSA process and enhance key controls.
β’ BS in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. β’ Operational risk management, enterprise risk management, audit experience required. β’ Project management and banking experience preferred. β’ 5 + years of experience working in a similar risk and control function either in first, second, or third line of defense. β’ Meaningful experience in Consumer or Commercial Banking Operations or related financial services field. β’ SOX testing experience, is a plus. β’ Requires someone who is control-minded, has the ability to identify areas of concern in the workflow process and who is process oriented. β’ Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills. β’ Good organizational skills and attention to detail. β’ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. β’ Ability to work independently in a continuously changing environment. β’ Excellent communication skills required. β’ Energetic and positive outlook. β’ Ability to partner effectively across the organization and develop positive working relationships. β’ Inquisitive nature, resourcefulness, and ability to seek out information. β’ Advanced PC/system skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
