• This post is for a limited engagement contractor role to help with a specific, limited scope project. Please read the posting carefully • Work in Progress Consulting is a values-focused HR, Operations, Strategy and Finance consulting firm working primarily with nonprofits, foundations, and justice-focused organizing groups. • As we continue our iterative practice of reflecting on and refining the ways our values show up in our work, our leadership team of four Principal and Senior consultants are looking for a facilitator to help us reach shared understandings and make decisions around our firm’s practices related to concepts of Anti-racism, Inclusion, and Accessibility. • We are looking for a facilitator who is familiar with these concepts and with workplace approaches that are commonly referred to as “DEI” to facilitate our team’s deep-thinking and decision making, ask tough questions, and moderate a safe(r) space to explore these topics together. • While we understand that we are operating within the limitations of a capitalist and oppressive system, our goal is to identify ways we can work towards the aspiration of a truly inclusive, accessible, and anti-racist culture. • To begin this work, we have engaged in iterative work on our values, including: a recently updated values statement, shared accountability agreements and process, decision-making process, methods and systems for reciprocal feedback, a microaggressions policy, a compensation philosophy, accessibility standards, and a “shared expectations for a client/consultant relationship” document – all of which intersect with aspects of this work. These documents will be provided to the practitioner who works with us for context, and we are open to individual meetings or information gathering ahead of time to do this work in the manner that best suits the facilitator. • Our budget for this first phase of this work is $5,000. We anticipate beginning with a practitioner in April 2025 and working through early August 2025. • Our initial goals are to define and align on definitions and working priorities for anti-racism, inclusion, accessibility, and harm, to explore why and how our anti-racist approach should focus on anti-Blackness, strengthen internal team dynamics and establish protocols to prevent and/or address harm, define and set clear expectations for team members regarding behavior, values, and anti-racist, inclusive, and accessible practices, and strategize about a sustainable approach to continuing iterative work in this area over the long term. • Desired practitioner competencies include an anti-racist approach, trauma-informed approach, LGBTQIA+ competency, experienced facilitator who understands team dynamics, strategic planning and goal-setting skills, comfort with virtual / remote work facilitation models and tools, and ability to center accessibility in practices. This opportunity is open to any qualified practitioner in the United States, and the work will be conducted remotely with a team in the Eastern Standard Time Zone. • Please respond to this request for practitioners via this Workable posting. Please include a brief message outlining your interest in and qualifications for this work.
