📋 Description

• Responsible for designing, documenting, and testing WOW’s metro and backbone IP network • Consults with internal teams and vendors on software and hardware needs • Work with engineering teams to ensure deployable designs • Create test plans for code evaluations and service solutions • Develops near-term strategy and roadmaps for IP backbone • Assist in yearly budget planning • Part of the capacity planning team for backbone and transport connectivity • Lead and coordinate vendors and engineering for requirements • Prepare written reports and other technical documentation • Analyze network imperfections and recommend corrective actions • Act as a mentor for junior staff • Review configuration changes before implementation • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field • 4+ years’ work experience in an ISP environment • 5-7+ years’ experience in network design • Expert network engineering and architecture experience • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills • Thorough understanding of various L2/L3 protocols and technologies • Extensive experience with testing platforms such as Spirent and IXIA • Experience with network automation using scripting language Python • Experience with designing DDoS mitigation infrastructure • Analytical approach to problem solving
