• About XTI Aerospace: • XTI Aerospace, an acronym for “eXtended Technology and Innovation,” is a pioneering leader in advanced aircraft design and sustainable air mobility. • We’re developing the TriFan 600—the world’s first vertical lift crossover airplane (VLCA) that combines helicopter VTOL versatility with the speed, range, and comfort of a fixed-wing aircraft—to redefine regional air travel. • If you’re passionate about pioneering aerospace innovation, eager to work on projects that redefine the way we move, and ready to join a company where every role is an opportunity to change the world, then welcome aboard. • Explore our career opportunities and be part of a team that’s not just dreaming of the future—we live it • Job Summary: • As an Aerodynamics Engineer at XTI Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in the development of the TriFan 600. • Reporting to the Senior Aerodynamics Engineering Manager, you will perform numerical analyses and simulations that span all phases of the aircraft’s design—from initial concept and optimization to complex configuration assessments. • Your expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and aerodynamic analysis will directly influence design decisions, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency for current and future XTI products. • Key Responsibilities: • Design & Analysis: Develop and analyze aerodynamic models for the TriFan 600, creating a robust numerical aerodynamic database to support design decisions. • Simulation Development: Utilize state-of-the-art CFD tools and meshing software to simulate complex airflow configurations, balancing competing design requirements. • Data Validation: Conduct validation and verification studies; document, report, and communicate analytical findings and recommendations. • Performance Support: Provide aerodynamic predictions and data analysis to support subscale and full-scale flight testing, ensuring alignment with 14 CFR Part 21 certification requirements. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to integrate aerodynamic insights into overall aircraft performance, safety, and design. • Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, simulation results, and test reports. • Regulatory Compliance: Apply your understanding of FAA regulations and industry standards to advise on airplane design decisions and ensure compliance throughout the development process.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in aerodynamic analysis and CFD, particularly within aerospace or related industries. • Proficient with FUN3D and mesh generation software. • Solid understanding of both fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics. • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 or Part 27 certification requirements and FAA regulations. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional, dynamic team environments. • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience. • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 or Part 27, 25 & 29 certification requirements and FAA regulations. • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) for developing custom evaluation tools. • Proficiency with specialized CFD tools such as CHARM and Pointwise. • Demonstrated experience in modeling rotorcraft or other VTOL vehicles.
