Description

• Staff Software Engineer role focused on spreadsheet-like interfaces and automations. • Ensure software is architecturally consistent and delivers a snappy user experience. • Collaborate across teams to align on and coordinate change. • Research and propose new technologies or architectures. • Mentor engineers to improve individual and team skills. • Promote operational excellence with a focus on high reliability, performance, and scalability. • Work at all levels of the stack, with a preference for backend development.

Requirements

• ~10+ years of software engineering experience, at least 3+ years leading teams. • Comfortable troubleshooting across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing, storage, and distributed services. • Expert in one or more OOP languages and modern OOD, some experience with Ruby. • Ability to diagnose and improve performance issues systematically. • Ability to contribute to technical strategy and roadmaps on product-oriented teams. • Communicate nuanced ideas clearly in writing and brainstorming. • Strong ownership instincts and attention to detail. • Strong convictions, weakly held; assume validation and iteration for best results. • Excited to work on a cross-functional team with product stakeholders and subject matter experts.
