Description

• Manage a diverse caseload under different state and federal law jurisdictions • Litigate Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in federal court • Serve as lead counsel across an active, diverse caseload of federal and state open records and other litigation • Mentor junior attorneys • Develop litigation strategies to support AO’s mission

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice in at least one state (with eligibility to join District of Columbia bar) • 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including 2+ years leading civil litigation in federal and/or state court (for external candidates) • Commitment to public interest advocacy • Strong skills in litigation and case management, legal research, negotiation, communication, project management, judgment and decision making, problem solving, collaboration
