Description
• Named one of Sports Business Journal's Best Places to Work in Sports (2024) • Controller to oversee accounting, prepare reports, monitor cash flow, and manage budgets • Work closely with COO and Director of Finance for accurate reporting • Complete month-end close tasks including preparing journal entries and reconciliations • Manage preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP • Provide financial reports to senior management • Work with vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies • Oversee reporting of sales and tax deposits across jurisdictions • Monitor cash flow and manage treasury functions • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis • Lead in updating accounting procedures in line with GAAP • Participate in fulfilling annual external audit requirements • Work closely with external auditors for compliance • Ensure timely filing of tax returns • Lead investigations into operating expenses • Pursue optimization of existing processes • Manage accounting books across multiple business units • Keep abreast of industry trends
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred. • Minimum of 9-12 years’ experience in an accounting role • Experience with and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting and accounting principles • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management • Experience/proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage, Xero, etc.) • Advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) • Experience with e-commerce platforms preferred (Shopify, Stripe, etc.) • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality • Legal authorization to work in the United States
