Description

• Build and own optimal data pipelines delivering well-defined, tested, documented, and code-reviewed shared data sets to support analysis, reporting, mathematical modeling, and BI tooling • Proactively identify operational pain points and inefficiencies with cross-functional partners and develop new tools and automated process to solve them • Partner with key stakeholders across business functions to build dashboards and other BI tools that deliver insights and enable self-service • Propose and undertake improvements to our dbt infrastructure through refactoring, automated testing, and enhancement of code hygiene • Support EdTech researchers studying effectiveness and efficacy of education intervention • Conduct root cause analysis • Document models, processes, and nomenclature

Requirements

• Fluency and excellent problem-solving in SQL • Proven background collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and implementing end-to-end data solutions that help them do their jobs • Solid command of dbt, with at least 2+ yrs. of daily use building data models • 2+ yrs. creating dashboards in Tableau • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, especially regarding requirement intake • Strong stakeholder and project management skills • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously • 2+ yrs. working in a cloud data warehouse (Preferred: snowflake) • Understanding of data warehouse practices and concepts (Major Bonus Points) • Substantial experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data (JSON, XML) (Major Bonus Points) • Working knowledge of python outside ingestion APIs (Bonus points) • Experience working with Snowflake Cortex or Salesforce Container Services (Bonus points) • Experience in a role regularly requiring ROI / Impact estimation (Bonus points) • Ability to analyze data using basic statistical methods, interprets results, and provide written and graphical summaries of data analyses (Bonus points) • Experience with SSMS (Bonus Points) • General purpose object-oriented programming skills (Python, C#, Java) outside of ETLs
