Description

β€’ As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will protect IT infrastructure from criminal activity. β€’ Monitor networks and systems, detect security threats, analyze alarms, and report on threats. β€’ Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and manage them. β€’ Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans. β€’ Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual activity. β€’ Test and evaluate security products and design new security systems. β€’ Use analytic tools to determine threat patterns and vulnerabilities. β€’ Engage in ethical hacking to simulate security breaches. β€’ Identify weaknesses and implement security measures. β€’ Investigate security alerts and provide incident response. β€’ Liaise with stakeholders on cyber security issues and provide recommendations. β€’ Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff. β€’ Maintain an information security risk register and assist with audits. β€’ Monitor and respond to phishing emails and pharming activity. β€’ Assist with cyber security awareness training for colleagues. β€’ Provide advice on spam and malicious emails.

Requirements

β€’ 4-year degree or equivalent experience/skills β€’ Ability to use strategic and critical thinking to approach problems and create solutions. β€’ A passion for cyber security and a keen interest in IT. β€’ Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware, and security. β€’ An understanding of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them. β€’ A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus. β€’ An ability to work under pressure, particularly when dealing with threats and at times of high demand. β€’ Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess risks, threats, patterns, and trends. β€’ Teamworking skills to collaborate with team members and clients. β€’ Verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals. β€’ Written communication skills, for example to write technical reports. β€’ Time-management and organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines. β€’ The ability to multi-task and prioritize your workload. β€’ Excellent attention to detail β€’ Professional certification(s), e.g., Security+, GISF, SSCP, etc. β€’ Solid understanding of Internet fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP). β€’ Knowledge of cloud-based systems, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS). β€’ Familiarity with and some ability to code.
