Description

• Responsible for directing and monitoring the activities of the Underwriting and Product Management Department. • Provides effective leadership to the management staff within the department to assure maximum quality and efficiency. • Manages the rate review process for all products, contracts and form changes. • Ensures Underwriting and Rate manuals, policies and policy forms are maintained and updated. • Oversees the operation of the department to ensure a high standard of quality, productivity and compliance. • Manages budget responsibilities specifically in staffing costs and inspection vendor costs. • Responsible for an effective internal audit program to ensure compliance. • Ensures compliance with changing rules and forms through ongoing review of information provided. • Maintains a good understanding of standard market conditions. • Oversees complaints and underwriting appeals from producers and policyholders. • Collaborates with other functions to determine the impact of rules and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, or similar field required. • Master’s degree or Insurance designation(s) preferred. • Ten or more years’ experience in Property Underwriting and/or Product Management, including 5 or more years at a manager level or above. • Pricing experience preferred. • Proven leadership abilities to develop, direct and motivate employees and work across teams. • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) to senior and external leadership. • Sound decision making, analysis and judgement skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
