Description

• Provide individual, couple, and group counseling to address adjustment disorders and other non-medical issues. • Utilize best practices to assess and intervene in crisis situations, such as suicidal or homicidal risk. • Conduct initial clinical assessments and ongoing risk assessments using the Columbia Suicide Severity Risk Scale (C-SSRS) and Veterans Affairs Safety Plan. • Create safety plans for clients at risk. • Make referrals for clients requiring long-term or medical/psychiatric interventions and ensure appropriate follow-up. • Report suspected cases of child abuse or domestic violence in accordance with Navy and state requirements. • When needed, provide telephonic and virtual counseling services. • Maintain accurate records for all non-medical counseling services in the Navy’s FFSMIS Clinical Counseling Record System.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or Clinical/Counseling Psychology (PhD) from an accredited institution. • Licensure (current & unrestricted): One of the following: LCSW, LMFT, LCP, LPC, LCPC, LMHC. • 2+ years of post-graduate clinical experience, with at least 2000 hours of full-time, supervised clinical work. • U.S. Citizenship and successful background investigation are required.
