β€’ The role of the Founding Dean of the School of Counseling, Family Therapy, and Social Work includes academic leadership and business management. β€’ The role of the Dean is to provide inspirational, innovative and enterprising academic and business management leadership. β€’ The Dean is responsible for ensuring that the School achieves its plans and objectives, meets the highest academic standards and relevant accreditations, and supports the achievement of the University's mission, vision and overall objectives. β€’ The principal measures that will be assessed in determining the success of the Dean's efforts will be student outcomes, recruitment and retention of qualified students and instructors, the reputation of the School and its economic strength. β€’ While this is a predominantly remote position, essential functions of the role include the ability and availability of the Dean to attend in-person events, including accreditation visits and commission meetings, commencements, convocations, orientations, academic retreats, board meetings, meetings with university leaders, partners, alumni, and student groups, and other stakeholders as identified.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ A doctoral degree, from an accredited college or university, in a discipline that is within the scope of the School's program. β€’ Prior proven leadership in an organization of significant scale. β€’ A record of effective communications and thought leadership. β€’ Demonstrated ability to create a compelling vision, formulate a plan of action in pursuit of that vision, mobilize others in support of the vision and the plan, and achieve plan goals and objectives in a timely manner and in alignment with professional trends and academic standards. β€’ A clear understanding of and respect for the traditions, values and distinctive attributes of institutions of higher education as reflected by the American postsecondary tradition and practices. β€’ At least 3 years of service as a Dean, Associate Dean, or Assistant Dean overseeing a school portfolio or program within the scope of the disciplines comprising the School of Counseling, Family Therapy, and Social Work (5 years preferred). β€’ 5-10 Years of experience and evidence of successful leadership in higher education and management roles. β€’ Experience as a faculty member and academic administrator. β€’ Evidence of effective strategic planning and implementation experience. β€’ Experience in facilitating learning. β€’ Evidence of scholarship productivity. β€’ Financial management and budgeting experience.
