Description

• A System Integration Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing system integration solutions. • This role often involves coordinating between teams, troubleshooting complex integration issues, and optimizing system performance. • Engineers at this level are expected to possess advanced technical skills, experience in automation and scripting, and a deep understanding of systems architecture and protocols. • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network (L3 switches and Firewalls) and server infrastructure. • Develop software in a variety of languages - most commonly Go, Python, and Bash. • Plan and execute critical infrastructure and automation projects. • Deployment and automation using bare metal provisioning. • Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure (vCenter) lifecycle and ESXi environments. • Monitor servers and network activity for optimal performance and operation. • Maintain software development documentation and best practices. • Innovate and contribute to internal service partner projects. • Fill the role of escalation path for technicians that directly use software you’ve authored.

Requirements

• Strong network knowledge (CCNA or equivalent). • Virtualization experience (VMware preferred). • Containerization and container orchestration experience. • Strong Linux/Unix familiarity / affinity. • Bash scripting experience. • Strong Go and Python programming experience. • *nix system administration and automation experience. • The ability to accurately and concisely document procedure. • Passion for learning and teaching. • Experience with automation utilities such as Ansible. • Industry standard SDLC experience - Git / VCS experience. • Database experience (SQL or otherwise). • Modern front-end application development experience. • Experience with Canonical MAAS. • Experience working with Hardware Vendors (Supermicro, HPE, Arista, Intel, Samsung). • Familiar in programming languages: Golang, Javascript, Python, SQL (Golang highly encouraged). • Experience with troubleshooting test failures that impact multiple engineering disciplines. • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high visibility environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Experience with hardware/software integration. • Experience in designing, validating, executing, and documenting hardware test procedures. • High level of organization in multi-tasking to support concurrent project priorities. • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work independently and meet deadlines. • Ability to manage expectations and provide proactive status updates. • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors. • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner. • Ability to communicate technical detail into succinct and fact-based business terminology both verbally and in writing. • Ability to use independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action to solve problems.
