Description

• Provides counsel and advice to teams for sexual misconduct prevention and response. • Offers one-on-one counsel to synodical bishops and staff. • Provides training courses for bishops. • Monitors the organization's response to sexual misconduct incidents. • Represents the ELCA program at forums and in communications. • Assists in developing Boundary education and training for Rostered Ministers. • Develops efforts to help prevent sexual abuse of children. • Establishes networks for information and support regarding sexual misconduct. • Provides support for pastors recovering from clergy sexual misconduct.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience working with sexual offenders, victims of sexual offense, and the legal system. • Ability to compassionately and assertively discuss all types of sex. • Proven ability to listen to, understand, and assess victim issues. • Experience helping respondents understand offenders and prepare confrontation scripts. • Compassion, patience, and empathy for those discussing sensitive topics. • Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities. • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. • In-depth knowledge of the ELCA, its constitution, theology, polity, and candidacy process. • Experience using Microsoft Office suite and financial systems.
