Description

β€’ Provides counsel and advice to teams for sexual misconduct prevention and response. β€’ Offers one-on-one counsel to synodical bishops and staff. β€’ Provides training courses for bishops. β€’ Monitors the organization's response to sexual misconduct incidents. β€’ Represents the ELCA program at forums and in communications. β€’ Assists in developing Boundary education and training for Rostered Ministers. β€’ Develops efforts to help prevent sexual abuse of children. β€’ Establishes networks for information and support regarding sexual misconduct. β€’ Provides support for pastors recovering from clergy sexual misconduct.

Requirements

β€’ 7+ years of experience working with sexual offenders, victims of sexual offense, and the legal system. β€’ Ability to compassionately and assertively discuss all types of sex. β€’ Proven ability to listen to, understand, and assess victim issues. β€’ Experience helping respondents understand offenders and prepare confrontation scripts. β€’ Compassion, patience, and empathy for those discussing sensitive topics. β€’ Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities. β€’ Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. β€’ In-depth knowledge of the ELCA, its constitution, theology, polity, and candidacy process. β€’ Experience using Microsoft Office suite and financial systems.
