Description

• The IT Project Manager is responsible for effectively managing the delivery of change projects into the organisation. • The role is accountable for ensuring change is delivered using the agreed project management methodology and good working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the realisation of expected business benefits. • Ensuring delivery to agreed business objectives, requirements, schedules, costs and quality objectives. • Ensuring requirements are accurately captured and solution is appropriately developed to support generation of the business case. • Establish, control and monitor project/programme timescales and budgets, obtaining appropriate approvals and authorisations, considering dependencies and taking appropriate action to overcome delays, difficulties or cost overruns. • Provide direction and support to ensure a smooth project/programme initiation enabling budget approval and project prioritisation. • When required plan, communicate and implement change ensuring all those affected fully understand the nature and implications of such changes. • To maintain good relationships with the business sponsors and provide objective guidance and advice to ensure effective implementation. • Develop and maintain key working and influencing relationships with appropriate colleagues in own and other business units.

Requirements

• Prince 2 or similarly qualified Project manager with previous experience of successfully managing client facing projects through the full project life cycle. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Solid stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate. • Proven ability to manage projects effectively. • Demonstrable experience in producing and delivering quality presentations to both internal and external customers. • Strong understanding of project governance and controls including scope & deliverable management. • Developing and maintaining project schedule in Microsoft Project. • Experience gained within financial services, pension sector or other heavily regulated environments. • Proven track record of working in a matrix organisation. • Experience of Planview, Clarity or similar project management tools. • Experience of MS Visio MSP (Managing Successful Projects) PMP or other industry qualifications.
