Description

• Foresite Labs derives insights from precision measurement and genetics for unmet clinical needs. • Seeking an experienced applied statistical geneticist as Associate Director for therapeutic hypotheses. • Design and lead large-scale human genomic analyses for therapeutic target discovery. • Evaluate and design genomic discovery collaborations with external partners. • Translate genomic insights into meaningful results for R&D initiatives. • Collaborate with colleagues to identify therapeutic translation opportunities. • Communicate analysis findings to support decision-making for companies with genomic insights.

Requirements

• PhD in Human Genetics, Statistical Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Statistics. • 6+ years of experience in human genomics research post PhD. • 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry R&D experience, preferably in performing or leading a team to perform analyses leveraging genomic data for drug discovery and development. • A proven track record of genomic discovery in large-scale GWAS and WES/WGS datasets in academia and/or industry. • Knowledge of genome-wide and phenome-wide analysis approaches. • Hands-on experience in association analyses in large WES/WGS and GWAS datasets. • Experience leveraging publicly available databases to annotate data/results. • Extensive experience in meta- and mega-analyses of variants. • Experience in polygenic score construction, validation, and portability. • Experience in fine-scale locus dissection and causal inference. • Extensive experience in statistical programming with R, Python, or other languages. • Experience managing junior and senior team members. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced and interactive environment.
