Description

• The Insurance Eligibility Specialist performs essential functions related to patient accounts for Frontier Psychiatry clients. • This role includes verifying patient demographics, verifying insurance eligibility via phone and online. • The Insurance Eligibility Specialist establishes working relationships with provider offices, billing clients, and patients, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims and adherence to payer rules and regulations. • In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our members have access to the healthcare services they need by verifying their eligibility and benefits.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical insurance eligibility and verification and/or medical billing. • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in healthcare administration. • Strong knowledge of insurance eligibility verification processes and medical billing procedures. • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, PPO and Commercial payer rules and regulations. • Proficiency in using billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Professional attitude that aligns with Frontier Psychiatry’s Core Values. • Demonstrates knowledge of insurance verification processes and the ability to accurately verify patient eligibility via phone and online. • Understanding of medical billing procedures, including denials due to eligibility. • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, PPO and Commercial Payer rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines. • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with provider offices, billing clients, and patients. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. • Ability to identify issues related to patient accounts and insurance claims and provide effective solutions. • Ability to utilize multiple types of software throughout the day to complete the eligibility process: Athena software is a plus.
