• GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. • You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. • The Senior Machine Learning Engineer reports to a Senior Staff Engineering Manager of Document Platform under GEICO Platform Engineering organization. • This tech lead works with other engineers to innovate and build a unified and modernized document management system that integrates with multiple business applications to serve critical business processes. • You will lead the strategy and execution of the technical roadmap of the document intelligence sub-area of the entire document management platform. • The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in both general AI/ML , Document AI and production-ready software system development.

Requirements

• Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as Java, Golang, Python or C# including object-oriented design • Working knowledge and experience of building data intensive large-scale systems with focus on fault-tolerance and throughput • Extensive knowledge and experience in AI/ML models, algorithms, and MLOps best practices • Expertise of building enterprise-grade AI/ML products at scale • Experience in Document Intelligence related product development • Experience building products of micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs • Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) • Fluency in DevOps concepts and best practices in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as a code • Experience with application performance monitoring tools and performance assessments • In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms • Experience with solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
