β€’ Managing complex biological resources-related projects β€’ Leading biological due diligence assessments, construction monitoring, biological constraints studies β€’ Preparing project budgets for biological surveys and reporting β€’ Conducting reconnaissance surveys, rare plant surveys, botanical inventories, and vegetation classification β€’ Leading or conducting surveys for threatened, endangered and sensitive wildlife throughout California β€’ Collecting field data and writing reports for biological assessments β€’ Gathering and researching applicable project information for technical analysis β€’ Working with the accounting department to review invoices and project audits β€’ Leading or conducting quantitative or qualitative restoration site monitoring β€’ Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with mitigation/permit requirements β€’ Coordinating and supervising the preparation of biological documents and technical analysis β€’ Peer reviewing team deliverables and providing feedback β€’ Meeting with internal project managers and external clients to discuss project requirements β€’ Preparing presentations for clients, public, and boards β€’ Conducting regular team meetings to track the progress of work products β€’ Preparing and tracking project scopes, schedules, meeting agendas, minutes, and progress reports

🎯 Requirements

β€’ At least 5 years' experience as a biologist β€’ Minimum of a Bachelor degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field β€’ Possess a diverse background and understanding of northern or southern California wildlife and plant communities β€’ Advanced knowledge of federal and state legislation, policies, and procedures relating to the natural environment β€’ Working knowledge of ecology and resource conservation, mitigation strategies, and basic engineering concepts and practices β€’ Experience with preparing technical biological documents, including survey reports, impact assessments, permit applications, and mitigation plans β€’ Skilled at communicating with regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over the natural environment in California β€’ Experience with conducting and overseeing wetland and other jurisdictional delineations β€’ Experience with CEQA/NEPA and environmental permitting for waterways β€’ Experience with state and federal wildlife protection regulations and guidelines for listed species β€’ Wetland delineation training certificate β€’ Experience with preparation and implementation of mitigation and restoration plans β€’ Experience with avian surveys, including nesting surveys and monitoring β€’ Experience with pre-construction and construction compliance monitoring β€’ Familiar with the principles and techniques of effective project management β€’ Clear, concise, accurate technical writing and analysis β€’ Ability to efficiently conduct archival/electronic research using relevant databases β€’ Excellent interpersonal skills β€’ Highly self-motivated and productive β€’ Detail-oriented and accurate β€’ Commitment to quality on projects of all sizes and scopes β€’ Effectively and cooperatively work both as an individual and in a team setting β€’ Strong organizational and computer skills β€’ Willingness and ability to travel when needed β€’ Willingness and ability to work fluctuating and/or long hours as necessary β€’ Willingness and ability to work outdoors in inclement weather when needed
