Description

• We are looking for a skilled IT/OT Solution Architect specializing in machine connectivity and shop floor devices. • This role will focus on designing and implementing integrated solutions that enhance connectivity between manufacturing equipment and IT systems. • Develop and maintain the architectural framework for machine connectivity and shop floor devices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry standards. • Design and implement solutions that connect industrial machines (such as PLCs, sensors, and IoT devices) to IT systems (such as MES, ERP, and data analytics platforms) to enable real-time data exchange. • Establish and enforce connectivity standards and protocols for shop floor devices to ensure interoperability and data integrity. • Work closely with production teams, IT, engineering, and external vendors to understand requirements and deliver comprehensive solutions that enhance manufacturing processes. • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies related to machine connectivity, IoT, and automation that can optimize shop floor operations. • Implement security measures such as network segmentation to protect data and systems, ensuring the safe operation of connected devices and compliance with Hitachi Energy’s Cybersecurity regulations. • Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow charts, and integration specifications. • Lead projects from conception to deployment, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful implementation. • Provide expert support for resolving connectivity issues between machines and IT systems, leveraging both IT and OT knowledge.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred. • 5+ years of experience in IT/OT solution architecture focusing on machine connectivity and shop floor devices. • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and IoT frameworks. • Familiarity with networking principles and cybersecurity best practices in an industrial context. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
