• Horace Mann is a purpose-driven company that is passionate about educators. • Lead the Life Division with full responsibility for its strategic direction, management, and performance. • Accountable for driving profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment with company goals. • Oversee all aspects of the Life Division, including New Business, Underwriting, and Operations. • Manage the division’s profit and loss in coordination with the executive team. • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, CEO, corporate staff, and external stakeholders. • Work closely with executive leadership to shape and implement company strategies. • Drive day-to-day management of the Life Division, focusing on efficient business processes. • Ensure effective execution of strategic and tactical initiatives. • Exercise strategic, operational, and administrative decision-making in response to market conditions. • Oversee the preparation and delivery of performance reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. • Extensive experience (10+ years) in a senior management role within the life insurance industry in mid-cap/large-cap size companies (or private equivalent). • Industry designations preferred. • Proven track record in managing P&L responsibilities and meeting profit and growth targets. • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive operational improvements and align teams with strategic goals. • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working alongside executive leadership and Board members. • Demonstrated expertise in managing large, cross-functional teams and leading organizational change.
