Description

• Lead small teams to conduct open-source policy research, document reviews and data analysis to support local hazard mitigation planning and grant application development • Perform benefit-cost analyses for complex infrastructure projects to assess future risk reduction benefits of hazard mitigation alternatives • Develop first drafts of written products (e.g., grant proposals, checklists, reports, etc.) and tools (e.g., dashboards, etc.) to support the design and implementation of client projects • Develop agendas and deliver presentations to clients and other contractors to support project implementation activities • Support project managers with deliverable reviews and budget and schedule tracking for deliverable submission • Utilize geographic information systems (GIS) or other platforms for data analysis and visualization to help clients understand trends, relationships, and geographic context • Assist with business development activities, including proposal writing, white papers, opinion pieces, and other marketing support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public and/or Environmental Justice or Policy, Economics, or similar field • 4+ years’ experience conducting research, analyzing data and policies, and developing products such as state and/or local policies, hazard mitigation plans, standard operating procedures, and grant applications • 4+ years’ experience executing technical assessments related to hazard mitigation, including benefit-cost analysis and risk and vulnerability assessments (mapping using desktop GIS for geo-any-maps) • 4+ years’ experience in policy analysis, grant writing, reporting, and progress tracking related to federal programs • Able and willing to travel (flight/vehicle) for program needs as directed • Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
